The wait is over.. Google Earth has finally recognised chennai.. You can see high-resolution images of chennai from google earth . But.... The data snap shot that google has is probably more than 3 years old!!! Below is the view of my apartment complex...I can only see the early construction phase..The fully constructed apartment complex is more than 3 yrs old..

This sucks!! And I am disappointed with Google.. Wonder when they would refresh their data!!

Actually, they don't want to display brand new satellite images, because our Mr.President already cried foul when Mumbai went High-Res (with images that were more than 3 years old). A lot of people consider it a threat to privacy, even though Google Earth team assures that most images are around three years old:
