With the grace and blessings of Swami, Madras Boys conducted Grama Seva on 8th April 2007 at Krishna Kandigai & Kannigaiper Village. At Krishna Kandigai White washing of village school and Tree plantation was organized and at Kannigaiper village Bhajan and Narayana Seva at the temple premises. 2 activities were simultaneously organized on the same day at both villages.

At Krishnakandigai the School was previously renovated a month before which was in a depleted condition .At Kannigaiper, the temple was in a bad shape. The temple roof was leaking badly during rainy days and the floor around the premises was also damaged. The painting was worn out and not done for years thus giving a bad picture of an ancient temple. The renovation work of the temple and school was organized together. Thus it was decided to paint the school with the tree plantation program to mark its inauguration and also to inaugurate the temple on the same day by having Bhajan and Narayana Seva. Two water tanks were setup at Krishnakandigai at different points and were also commissioned to work on the same day.

In the Morning, the boys first went to Krishnakandigai and after prayers, split into two groups, one for whitewashing and another for tree plantation. By Swamis Grace the school was whitewashed and painted by mid noon and the tree plantation program went on side by side. More than 30 samplings of different varieties of trees were planted at various points in the village. The Boys sweated it out in the hot sun and worked hard enthusiastically and finished the given task. Then they regrouped together and moved to the next village at Kannigaiper to inaugurate the temple function. The Temple had a new look and the village boys with love decorated Swamis Photo in Jhoola and did the entire spade work for the Seva activities conducted at both villages. Bhajan was conducted as a mark of opening ceremony in the temple conducted by Narayana Seva.

The villagers expressed their gratitude and thanked the youth for this bond of Love and Seva.

By the Grace of God, the Madras Sai Youth had an exceptional opportunity to undertake Shramdaan Seva on 13th Oct 2006, at "Makkah Mosque & Islamic Center", situated on Mount Road, Chennai.

The cleaning work was initiated prior to Ramzan festival. The Imam happily accepted the proposal and
on the D-day, around 40 eager youth, turned up for the Shramdaan Seva.

The Boys were given a unique opportunity to pray within the Mosque before commencing the Seva. The Boys ,undertook the cleaning work of the Washing area where devotees wash their hands and feet before entering the inner sanctorum of the Mosque.Cleaning work was also done in the backyard of the Mosque. This area had not been cleaned from long time and was used to dump garbage by all.

The Boys worked hard in the hot sun and were able to clear the garbage, cut the grass, prune the bushes and wash the path leading to the Mosque, by mid afternoon.

The Imam was very happy with the Boys and showed his gratitude when he graciously accepted our proposal of distribution of Rasna to the devotees, after the morning prayers on Ramzan.

This year Sai Youth of Chennai were blessed to celebrate Christmas at a remote village, Karunya Nagar where the physically challenged leprosy patients prominently Christians are habitated.

When the Sai Youth reached Karunya Nagar on 24th evening all the inhabitants flocked around them to give a warm welcome. Even though the church in that colony wore a festive look there was neither a revered father nor a revered Brother to deliver sermons.

On reaching there the youths divided themselves into two groups, one group for packing 6 kgs of rice in plastic covers amidst chanting of Sai Gayathri and the other decorating the community hall with a Christmas tree with dolls depicting Christ’s birth set beautifully underneath it. Balloons and festoons were tied all around. The stage was illuminated with focus lights and serial lamps.

At around 9:45 pm one of the youth clad as Santa Claus with a decorated staff, a bell and a bay containing chocolates danced around the colony to proudly announce the “Coming of Jesus”.

The Christmas eve came to an end by 2AM. After then we returned back to Chennai since we had some action for the next day.

Next day morning again the team started the journey towards Cancer hospital at adyar to celebrate with The inmate kid’s . The day started with a bhajan followed by distribution of prasadam and snacks to all the children .

With the Divine Blessings and Grace of our Sai, Madras Boys participated in the Sidha Medical Camp and Vertinary Camp, last Sunday. Even though it rained heavily in Chennai, The Doctors and the Youth Team decided to go ahead with the grama seva, after due deliberation.  In spite of the cloudy condition at the village school premises,  there was no rain and approximately 858 Patients were given free medical treatment.

Simultaneously, with this Seva activity, 4 more Water Tanks were inaugurated, in 4 different villages, as part of Swami’s Birthday Celebrations. The 4 Water Tanks were built at – Malliankuppam School, Thandalam School, Perandur Village Hospital, and Perandur School. Perandur School incidentally, was the same venue, where the Medical and Vertinary Camp were also conducted.

About 2,500 children would be benefited by this water project. Water facility for the school toilets, were also newly provided, as the toilets built by the government, did not have water supply.

The Perandur Hospital, where the water facility was provided, caters to medical needs for about 10 villages around the district. On any given weekend, nearly 400 patients come for treatment and on an average, 5 deliveries take place, at the women’s ward. The hospital nurses used to bring water in pots from main road, during the delivery period and also for dressing open wounds at the First Aid section. Understanding the urgent need, water facility was provided , thus bringing great relief to the hospital staff and the patients.

Looking back, in the morning, we all were holding strong views, that the grama seva, should to be called off, because of the heavy rains. After the Grama Seva in the evening, Swami made us realize that his work never stops and that we are fortunate for being instrumental in His Divine work.
